Blair Rodman: A Successful Poker Pro

When people have jobs that provide a stable income, it just seems hard to understand why some of them still opt to quit their jobs in order to venture into riskier professions. That is exactly what poker professional Blair Rodman went through when he made a tough decision of abandoning a job that provided him a stable salary in order to venture into a profession that depends on a balance of chance and skill. It did not seem to bother him that he was venturing into a profession related to a game of chances. He was very confident of his skills that he knew he would succeed as a poker professional.

Born in Troy, New York on April 5, Blair Rodman was working as a dealer of the game of craps when he decided to leave in 1985 in order to become a poker professional. It seemed like he was right not to underestimate his skills because from the time that he started playing professional poker, he has always been winning money consistently.

Blair Rodman has been in the gambling industry for a long, long time now but only got his first World Series of Poker bracelet on June 29, 2007 when he won first place in a No Limit Hol'dem game at the 38th Annual World Series of Poker. But prior to such victory, he had always been actively joining World Series of Poker events.

It was on May 3, 1991 when Blair Rodman first cashed in the money in a Limit Hold'em game of the 22nd Annual World Series of Poker. On the next day, he once again finished in the money in a Limit Omaha game.

Blair Rodman also experienced finishing in the money in three World Series of Poker events in 1993. The events that this poker professional participated in were two Limit Hold'em games and one Limit Omaha game.

In 1996, although this poker professional only had one money finish at the 27th Annual World Series of Poker, he still reached the final table and won US$6,875.

Blair Rodman remained to be visible at World Series of Poker events between 1997 and 2000, and emerged once again in the tournament from 2004 to the present.

This poker professional has also been always active in joining other poker events such as the Ultimate Poker Challenge, the World Poker Tour, the Wynn Classic, and many others.

Blair Rodman also had the chance to co-write a book with fellow poker professional Lee Nelson. The title of their poker book is "Kill Phil: The Fast Track to Success in No-Limit Hold'em Poker Tournaments."

This poker professional also loves to spend time with his wife Roxy when he is not playing poker. The two met while Roxy was working as a dealer of poker at the Mirage Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
